sigma_16-28_f2-8dnSigma 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN C

Pros: AF responsiveness, T.A. sharpness, front lens does not extend (perfect for gimbal)

Cons: Missing a programmable key

Opinion: Undecided whether to buy the Tamron 17-28 f2.8 or this sigma 16-28 f2.8 I opted for Sigma as that extra mm of wide side focal length can be convenient. A happy choice as this lens is particularly sharp in all focal lengths even at full aperture and with excellent behavior at the edges. The blur to be a zoom lens is not bad and the responsiveness of the autofocus is really good on a par with a Sony, fast and without uncertainties. On a constructive level it seems well done, the rings are fluid and silent. It has a slider for manual mode but unfortunately lacks a programmable key. Perfect optics in use on Gimbal as the inner lens does not extend, thus avoiding imbalances during the change of focal length. I can only recommend it. If you want morec ome zoom to f2.8 there is, in my opinion, only the Sony16-35 GM.

tamron_28-75iii_f2-8g2Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2

Pros: excellent sharpness even at full aperture - fast and precise autofocus - excellent construction in relation to the price

Cons: for 850 euros I did not find any

Opinion: Before buying this Tamron 28-75 second version I used for a long time the 24-105 f4 Sony, amazing lens and very versatile thanks to stabilization. Unfortunately the f/4 aperture indoors was sometimes not optimal and, hoping for a good quality at full aperture, I opted to buy this lens. On a constructive level it seems well made and the rings are fluid and silent. It has a button and a slider with two programmable modes (via software as it has a USBC socket directly on the body) that allow various configurations. At an optical level it turned out to be beyond the most optimistic expectations as at full aperture at f2.8 it is sharper (even if slightly) than my Sony 24-105 at f4, surprising edges with a very slight drop to f2.8 but sharp almost as in the center at f4, always higher than Sony. Fast autofocus and without uncertainties. As for the 24mm focal length, which sometimes proves to be very useful, I bought a 24 f1.8 AF Samyang (another surprising lens that I will review shortly) and, for the part concerning the focal length greater than 75mm, the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 iii VXD, another very performing lens and of which I was very satisfied. In my opinion Tamron has worked very well on these lenses, I just have to use them for some time to verify their reliability. For now I can only recommend them.

samyang_af24-70_f2-8Samyang AF 24-70mm f/2.8 FE

Pros: Construction, quality at the heart

Cons: weight, sharpness at edges, image quality at maximum focal length

Opinion: Tried for a few days and returned, I already own the Sony 24-105 f4 and at the Image Quality level the Samyang does not stand comparison, neither in the center nor at the edges. It is sharp in the center at 24mm even at F/2.8 but decreases progressively from 40 to 70mm. It also has a visible AC especially at the edges and in strong contrasts while with the flare it does well. As for the AF I did not find any problems with the A7iV. Quite fast and accurate in focusing, even on the move. Granite construction, it is really heavy and if you use for a long time the neck is felt. Good sliding of the rings. Let's say that if you need a zoom f2.8 for indoor events etc. and the budget is limited it can be a solution, work is taken home ... even if there is some compromise to be accepted. However, we must consider that with the same expense or a little more there are more valid alternatives (Tamron 28-75 G2 and Sigma 24-70 art) and, in my opinion, it is better to evaluate the thing well.

sony_fe200-600Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS

Pros: TA sharpening, lightweight, AF

Cons: bracket a bit small, hood attachment apparently not very robust

Opinion: I tried over time other tele zoom (even on Nikon and Canon) but this is the only one that (on my A7iv) finally allows me to use the maximum focal length at maximum aperture and get a really sharp shot on the whole frame. I was really amazed. Obviously the other focal lengths are also up to par and the autofocus, once the multiple settings between camera and lens are tamed, is lightning silent and precise. I am absolutely satisfied and, given the results, I also find it quite cheap. Of course an F/4 would be better but you should gut your wallet and strengthen your back ;-)

sony_fe40_f2-5gSony FE 40mm f/2.5 G

Pros: Sharpness even at maximum aperture, weight and compactness, materials, lightning-fast AF

Cons: a bit expensive

Opinion: Optics purchased more for videos than for photos as it has a lightning AF with 2 linear motors and allows incredible tracking and precision with zero noise and ridiculous weight despite being impeccably built. Actually I'm using it a lot even in photography as it is really sharp from the center to the edges, even at full aperture ... Ok it is not an f/1.8 but at f/2.5 you have a very nice blur with round bokeh and sharpness practically at the top. Another gem is the aperture ring with 1/3 stop shots and key that makes it fluid for video use. Also commendable is the programmable button on the barrel. If you can have discounted it, it's an optics to be taken on the fly.

sony_fe24-105_f4ossSony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS

Pros: clarity, weight, speed and low noise AF

Cons: AC light in some cases but easily removable

Opinion: I'm trying for a short time, at first impression, it looks really a view up to the price high enough that is sold. As a comparison I have ever had the 24-120 Nikon and Sigma 24-105 (optics in my opinion excellent and superior to Nikon). I must say that already at F4 the sony is really sharp at all focal lengths, even at the edges (tested on Sony A7iii). In the qualities we'd put the answer in autofocus and the silence of the same, really impressive, excellent balance and the smaller burden, good overall construction and stabilizer effectively. In a few minor flaws, and I noticed a visible vignetting at the extreme edges at 24 mm f4 (I'm talking about RAW as well as shot with no lens correction enabled profile) which disappears almost completely by mounting filters and lens hoods (I think they calculated), obvious that if you enable the automatic fix everything disappears and the image is perfectly correct in terms of distortion, which anyway is not excessive. In strong light you can see a bit of chromatic aberration, well below the Nikon but slightly higher than the Sigma. Obviously in this case by applying the lens profiles of LR and AC, it disappears. Overall I think this is the best 24-105 F4 that crossed his hands, thank goodness because the price is not low.

sigma_24-35_f2artSigma 24-35mm f/2.0 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharpness at all focal even at full aperture, brightness, building

Cons: tropicalization (who needs it), weight (but remember that replaces three fixed lenses) and stabilization (but at what price?)

Opinion: fantastic lens, open the first images I could not believe, at f2.8 with a focal 24, 28 and 35 also have razor sharp edges, very sharp f2 in the center with corners sharper still my ex Tamron 24-70 VR. beautiful colors, soft and pleasing blur, very good in the backlight. Vignetting present only to f2 and f2.8 slightly but very useable software (Lightroom use) unlike the Sigma 24-105 f4 Art I replaced, but other excellent lens produced in certain shots a vignette that I could not recover fully. AC almost non-existent and easily eliminated, ditto with distorsione.rnCostruzione solid and excellent aesthetics, hood well done, dial to the focus very wide and smooth manual. It 'a pleasure to hold it in mano.rnDifetti? RnBeh definitely not the cost because I was able to take on Amazon NEW just over 720 Euros and I am from 3 fixed f2 of excellent quality. Stabilization? NI ... too good but it certainly would have made more compromises without counting the price increase. rnTropicalizzazione? YES ... for those who bisogno, but for my use, I never happened to shooting under a rain torrenziale.rnNel my case no front / back focus so I do not have to buy the USB dock for a 40na the euro eliminates any possible defect problema.rnSi ... there would be, if you do not have other optical hike is the focal coverage is very narrow, it is not conclusive ... in my case, having a 14, 50, 85 and 105 fixed, it seems to me made.

samyang_14Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical

Pros: Sharpness, bright, cheap and construction (excluding the front cover)

Cons: accentuated distortion and irregular (there are some correction profiles for Photoshop and LR that correct the problem) effectively

Opinion: I find that this perspective is really a bargain for what it costs, especially the version for Nikon with CPU contacts. The distortion is accentuated and type mustache, I must say, however, you do not notice too much, obviously it depends on the subject. It is a problem be solved by using Lightroom or Photoshop and applying specific correction profiles for this lens easily recoverable in the network, the results are ottimi.rnLa construction is solid with metal barrel and lens hood in good plastic material. However bad the cover of lesser quality plastic. rnPossiede contacts for Nikon and therefore records all metadata concerning focal, aperture and speed, the aperture can be adjusted directly on the reflex mode A. MAF ring of very smooth and fine-scale corresponding to the distances. In case of simple apertures focus with electronic rangefinder Nikon (green ball and arrows). rnVignettatura present and visible at full aperture, but is easily remedied via software.rnPer have maximum nitidezza the edges in the widest apertures need to focus slightly behind exploiting the hyperfocal and thus solving the problem in part of this field curvature in this kind of lenti.rnPersonalmente I recommend it big time.

samyang_12_f2ncsSamyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS

Pros: Lighting, construction, sharpness, price, color balanced

Cons: lightweight game graft on Sony alpha 6000 due to the slightly larger block hole, this does not affect use.

Opinion: I purchased this light for use on Sony Sony Alpha 6000 and I was pleasantly surprised at the image quality and construction. lightweight and well-balanced perspective, nut smooth motion but hard enough to avoid accidental displacement. Little distortion and colors really pleasant and well contrasted, excellent sharpness at the center even at f2, good edges turning a bit 'the diaphragm. Lightweight AC easily corrected in Lightroom. Using very large apertures need to focus with precision but with the focus peaking and magnification of a6000 is a walk, no problem to f4 on, adjusting the hyperfocal a meter is all on fire. A truly fun optic. Paid 300 Euros new ... to have.

sony_e50Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS

Pros: Sharpness even at full aperture, excellent stability and fast MAF on Sony A6000

Cons: Nothing relevant

Opinion: Optical fantastic! very clear even at f1.8, obviously at maximum aperture gives a bit 'on the edge but in the portraits is unimportant, in return, the effective stabilization helps a lot and makes it possible to shoot at 1/15 with very little light. From f2.8 onwards he is peaking and holds well even f16.rnUtilizzo also a Nikon D610 with 85 F1.8 G ... other combined in my great, but the stabilization and coupled A6000-50 f1.8, so compact, light and handsome, it seems to square the circle! rnIl price (found online about 260 EUR), which seems more suited to what it offers, taking into account the excellent workmanship both aesthetic materials.

canon_50_f1-8stmCanon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

Pros: Good sharpness at f1.8, f4 in very high by then. AF quiet and fast, pleasing Bokeh. Bayonet metal

Cons: Focus at close range that sometimes does not hook quickly. Hood and expensive measures (49mm) different from the previous ones

Opinion: Optical razor sharp f4-f5.6-f8, f2.8 and a sharper, more interesting, good sharpness even at F1.8. rnNegli years I've owned many ... Sigma 50mm f1.4 no ART, f1.4 canon, nikon f1.8, f1.8 and sony, the focal similar, comparing the various pictures I find it clearer ... the amount of Sigma F1.4. Less aberration Canon f1.4 and slightly sharper in f1,8.rnPer regarding the mechanical quality, I think it is on a par with 40mm stm, so good. Focus fast and quiet, you lose a little 'to the very short distances (20-30 cm) but nothing detrimental. Blurred very pleasant. rn

sigma_17-50_f2-8_osSigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM

Pros: Sharpness even at full aperture, stabilization, favorable price, accurate autofocus

Cons: AF fast but slightly noisy for video, nothing Full time manual focus

Opinion: After a few months of use I can say to be very satisfied with this lens. Having already tried in the past the Tamron 17-50 2.8 does not stabilized and the old Sigma 17-50 2.8 unregulated, I think this point is at a level definitely higher. The optical quality is very high, very crisp and clear with TA slight decrease at the edges, giving the best from F.4 up where it reaches a good sharpness even at the extreme edges. Color rendering very pleasant with warm colors and contrasting. AF always fast and accurate, no front / back focus on my Canon 70D. Good stabilization. Excellent build quality (EX). In the past I've owned the famous canon 17-55 f.2.8 and I can assure you that the differences in favor of the latter are small at the expense of a double price. Obviously regarding the quality Sigma I feel lucky and I do not exclude that some samples may have problems front / back focus, I think it still the best buy for those who can not / want to invest too much money in the excellent Canon.

canon_efs10-18isCanon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM

Pros: Af quiet, accurate and fast, sharp, effective stabilizer, little distortion, super value for the money (got 249 in a day's grace on Amazon :) but well assembled plastic

Cons: the usual lack of the hood (sometimes essential) and a slight flare in backlit ... but at this price!

Opinion: I wanted a superwide and long kept tabs on this view. Just dropped in price, I took the opportunity, immediately order the hood of Profox (12 € ... good quality). The lens is surprisingly sharp, a little vignette 'full aperture but the 70D is that Lightroom is perfectly correct. Although the distortion in 10mm is not overwhelming and easily correctable. A 14mm hardly even notice. The autofocus is quiet and fast, since the sharpness of the focus point shots made, I assume is also very accurate. The stabilization works very well (I think 3 stops) and video to 10mm seems to have a steadicam. The quality, although with attack plastic, looks good and there are no games. Really happy with the purchase!

canon_70dCanon 70D

Pros: AF fantastic and perfectly usable in movies (tested with optical STM), adjustable touch display, AF micro lens, light but well built and pleasant to the touch, great burst and good image quality.

Cons: I confirm that the density of the sensor and lenses demands attention in the shot with good sharpness, in this case you will get high quality images. Some key points positioned unusual ... you have to get used to it. Lack of the second slot.

Opinion: AF truly shocking and running from the point of view of movies (however precise and fast in the photos), the touch screen is really noticeable and comfortable, move the fire quickly at any point of the image by tapping with your finger is very convenient and also the management of some controls is immediate ... type enlarge the photo to see if a fire with two fingers. The ergonomics seem guessed, light and full in the commands but still with a good solid feel and pleasing to the touch ... in short, is not a plasticone. All the controls seem to me that unless the right place to change the point of focus manually which is located next to the shutter button, the first few times it is difficult imbroccarlo without looking but I think it's just a matter of habit because in that position there have never been keys. Let's move on now to the most important, the quality of the photos ... before this I owned for two years and then the 7D for 6 months the Nikon D5200 (in my opinion one of the best APS as quality and gambut dynamic). The 70D seemed very similar to the 7D in terms of image quality with a dynamic range + extended slightly in the recovery of the shadows and noise at ISO 3200 with very little lower. Compared to the Nikon D5200 (and therefore also the 7100 has a quality almost identical) has perhaps a little 'less dynamic range, and a little' more (very little) noise in 3200/6400 ISO. I am very happy with our purchase because the quality difference is barely noticeable and the only imaging compared with screen magnification to 100%, hardly in common usage, but in return offers some features, especially for those who make videos, which are unattainable by others (AF and touch screen).
