manfrotto_zaino_veloce_v_sb390_5swManfrotto zaino Veloce V (MB SB390-5SW)

Pros: Build quality, comfort, padding, relative lightness, pocket for laptop up to 15" (mine is 15.6"), quick access pocket

Cons: Modularity, internal tripod compartment that only takes away space, very limited availability (taken used at about 50 €)

Opinion: All in all it is a backpack that does its job very well. Unfortunately the internal tripod space is only for really small tripods, and this takes away space inside (unless you put long lenses, because the small ones can't be placed on top of each other). But you can put the tripod on the outside with two small straps that, apparently, are very resistant. Initially I took it so as not to give people in the eye and disguise myself as a normal guy in the crowd; Nothing, I am forced to be branded as a "photographer" with the tripod on my shoulders. Considering that, at least, I carry it centrally behind the backpack (and not in a side pocket as in other backpacks), I can say that I am more confident about the integrity of my spine, because it is a well-balanced weight.

samyang_af35_f1-8feSamyang FE 35mm f/1.8 AF

Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, design, lightness, compactness, luminous aperture (1.8 stops), general contrast, "manual focus" switch to "ring openings", excellent value for money

Cons: Evident chromatic aberrations, distortion, sensitive bezel, focus breathing

Opinion: Samyang 35mm f/1.8 FE is a great lens, considering the price. Construction not excellent, but not poor either. The materials are also chosen to give lightness, to an incredible weight of 210 g! The bezel is very sensitive, though. Sometimes I don't even notice that I'm moving it. The switch between "manual focus distance" and "aperture ring" is a brilliant idea: I don't like to change the opening with the front ring of the car, so I use Mode 2 almost always. Sharp to be scary, already from the maximum aperture. From f/4.0 onwards it comes to perfection. There is no optical stabilization, but it is tropicalized. Bokeh "onion", very nice effect to see. Lightning-fast autofocus. There is the phenomenon of chromatic aberrations, and it is not easily solved by decreasing the opening. Personally, however, it is not a problem, since the effect can be effectively removed in post production. Noticeable distortion, but reasonable enough for a wide angle. Focus via stepper motor is not a real problem - since it is quite quiet - but the lens has an annoying focus breathing: at wide apertures, it is nothing like that. At apertures starting from f/9.0, it is difficult to focus, because the lens moves like the head of a pigeon when walking! In general, it is a lens that gives great satisfaction. At that price, then!

sony_a7iiSony A7 II

Pros: Full-frame, dynamic range, stabilization, design, ergonomics, lens availability, RAW malleability, key customization, UI, build quality, lightness, gyroscope, good ISO seal

Cons: EVF, battery life, single SD slot, lack of electronic shutter

Opinion: Sony A7 II has beautiful design and ergonomics, very similar to the latest Alpha. The mirrorless machine is lightweight and meticulously built: gyroscope and stabilization are two strong points. The full-frame sensor is sensitive to the right point, with a more than discreet ISO seal (not excellent, given the age). JPEG of insufficient quality, but RAW files are optimized to the maximum to be edited in the best way in post production. One of the many Sony privileges is the availability of lenses. Many of these cost, especially for FF, but you can find many more "cheap". Videos limited to Full HD, but of excellent workmanship. Often criticized the menu: it is quite easy to understand, actually. If you use the custom buttons, the experience becomes very simple. Many do not like autofocus, but for amateur use the AF-C is more than good: it manages to keep moving subjects with precision in sufficient light conditions. The battery life is really poor but this is easily solved... The sony NP-FW50 batteries cost an eye, but I received a third-party one supplied with the used machine and it is quite good, so you do not need to spend so much. A serious flaw, in my opinion, is the electronic viewfinder: it appears very pixelated. The machine has no second SD slot nor electronic shutter, but these features are not indispensable for non-professional use like mine. In conclusion: if you are not a professional photographer, you do not need to spend an exorbitant amount to have quality images. This camera is my choice - after many searches on the internet - for handling, versatility and the type of photography I am interested in. I also advise you to buy it used, because the few new models left (it is no longer in production) cost almost as much as the next model, so it is not worth it.
