zeiss_milvus18_f2-8Zeiss Milvus 18mm f/2.8

Pros: Image quality, design, no distortion, compact, sharp corners, bokeh

Cons: Price

Opinion: I sold my Canon 16-35mm 2.8L II to buy this lens. I support the Zeiss 18mm 2.8 with my Sigma 24mm 1.4 as well. I use the Milvus 18mm 2.8 for landscape and architecture. I use the 24mm 1.4 when I need AF or in low light. The Milvus lens is sharp for corner to corner at 2.8 to f16 and f22 is still good on 5D Mark III. It has very low distortion, and beautiful colors and contrast. It takes 77mm filters, and it has no problems with polariser AND two Lee filter slots in use. samyang_12fisheyeSamyang 12mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye

Pros: Amazing angle of view, Ultra ultra wide, sharp, compact, build, 2.8.

Cons: Fully manual lens, no AF confirm, no exif.

Opinion: This is an excellent fish-eye lens! This is one of the widest lenses for full frame in the world, regardless of cost. It produces punchy, contrasty sharp images. Although other fish-eye lenses offer a 180 degree diagonal view, this offers a wider view on the horizontal and vertical axis. Distortion not as pronounced as with canon fish-eye lenses as it uses a different more subtle image projection. The manual focus is really not an issue. When focusing at close distance, you can easily detect the sharp focus by eye. When focusing at medium and far distances, just use the focus scale. Because this lens is so wide, the depth of field is huge, aiding a mis-focused shot quite a lot. An example of this; if shooting at f5.6 at 12mm on FF, the image will be sharp from 0.4433m to infinity. The lens focuses to 0.2m. So basically everything will be in focus. The mechanical construction is quite good and resembles the Samyang 8mm lens. All in all a great product, which is significantly cheaper than alternatives.

sigma_35_f1-4Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharp wide open, Price, Colour, Build Quality

Cons: Nothing, Maybe 67mm filter thread should have been 72mm.

Opinion: This is a great lens. Every bit as good as the Canon 35mm 1.4L. i find the lens sharp wide open at 1.4. the colour and pop you get is great. I use it for travel and street photography. I have done a mini review with sample photos on my webpage, www.gormteper.net/reviews/sigma-35mm-f1-4-art/. See photos on my webpage and Juza profile. Highly recommend!!!
