Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS C Pros: Compact, light, sharp (even at the edges!), resolving (up to 42 mpx), price, native for mirrorless system, stabilizer, bokeh, possibility to mount both screw and slab filters (I use Nisi's V6). Cons: If I really have to find the hair in the egg, there are no adaptable sigma teleconverters and they won't come out soon because of the licensing agreements between sigma and Sony, which are less performing at af speed and not as tropicalized as the Sony GM, Opinion: In a word: FANTASTIC! PROS: I've been here for a few days and i've already been amazed in various respects, including certainly the discretion to carry it around among people in size and lightness (it's the size of a 1/2 liter bottle of water), very high sharpness already at the ta and all the focal points and also at the edges, effective stabilizer, very pleasant bokeh, zoom lock button (turnbille only from closed to 100mm), customizable physical button (I assigned him crop 1.5 in the room), balanced colors, fast and precise af and very quiet internal motor, resolving up to 42 mpx on my a7R3, very competitive price. CONS: The discouragement compared to the 2 Sony 100-400 and 200-600, only if for purely sporty or bird use with small fast subjects (about 30% of shots not perfecting in focus in fast pursuits compared to 100-400), is not tropicalized as a sigma sport 150-600 to be clear. IF you have an a7r4 it does not solve up to 61 mpx. CONCLUSION: For me this lens was a real surprise, definitely a best buy on my a7R3 and I overdo it. Grade 10, very good Sigma! sent on January 02, 2021 |
