Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM Pros: brightness, quality in general. Cons: big and heavy. Opinion: I put between the cons the size and weight but you know that extra brightness you pay in these terms and not only from an economic point of view. Coming from the zeiss batis 55 1.8, (lens that in my opinion does not have much to envy to this 50mm even if it is a 55) the difference in weight and size was considerable but then you do the hand. Together with the 14 and 135 1.8 completes my kit for the night street allowing me to take dynamic photos (as far as possible) without the use of flash using the artificial lights of the city. Ultimately an excellent lens in general from all points of view, rating 9.9. sent on January 20, 2023 |
Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 G PZ Pros: Internal zoom, versatile, excellent quality Cons: F4? Opinion: A nice surprise this 16-35 f4, taken to support the 70-200 2.8II with the two multipliers (1.4 and 2x) for mountain hikes where greater versatility and low weight are preferred to fixed optics. Excellent internal zoom, comfortable and with adjustable speed. Lightweight and filterable optics. On the other hand it is not very bright but for landscape photos and some long exposure with the tripod I would say that it is irrelevant. I was a bit doubtful in combination with the sony a7r4 but it gets along very well giving photos of excellent quality. vote 10 sent on December 15, 2022 |
Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Pros: weight, size, quality. Cons: nothing Opinion: What can I say, an almost perfect optics, light, compact, bright and of excellent quality. The only drawback is not being able to mount screw filters but for that type of photo I use the 16-35 f4. Ferfetto for the night street along with 50 1.2 and 135 1.8. Good sony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sent on December 04, 2022 |
Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Pros: Lightweight, fast, great with 1.4x and 2x, internal zoom. Cons: f 2.8? Opinion: After so much waiting it finally arrived but it was worth it. Light and very fast as I hoped, the unknown was the combination with the multipliers and I must say that even with the 2x maintains an excellent speed and above all a good sharpness even at 400mm !! This makes it very versatile for mountain hikes in combination with a wide angle. In deninitiva the perfect all-rounder, light, bright, fast, versatile, compact, excellent with multipliers (in apsc it becomes a 600mm f 5.6) and with the internal zoom. Sony FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Sonnar T* Pros: luminous fixed weight quality Cons: a bit the price Opinion: Lens that meets the qualities that I usually look for in a perspective, namely: high quality, fixed and bright lens and lightness. This lens in my opinion is not to be compared to other cheaper 1.8 lenses that exist in the market, here we are beyond and the quality as always you pay a little more. Together with the sony 14mm 1.8, the zeiss batis 18mm 2.8 and the sony 135 1.8 it entered by right in my photographic backpack for the merits that I have listed above. Rating 9.8 sent on November 22, 2021 |
Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM Pros: overall quality, versatility Cons: a bit the price and weight but obvious for a 135 mm f1.8 Opinion: Well yes, versatile, which for a fixed lens seems a heresy and instead the sony 135 f 1.8 has proved to be such, at least as far as my use is concerned. 1) Perfect portrait lens but also to "steal" the portraits by making strett even at night.2) Excellent for close up, it replaces a macro very well and therefore less weight in the backpack. 3) Perefetto also thanks to its brightness for walks in the coniferous woods where the light is always scarce, (example: foxes, deer, etc .., in apsc becomes a 200mm 1.8!!). Both build and image quality at the highest levels as a gm must be and perfect in combination with the demanding sony a7r4. rating 10! sent on October 27, 2021 |
Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Pros: A lot Cons: - Opinion: Never had a good feeling with sigma I do not even know why, perhaps the colors, or perhaps the abnormal weight of the art that have always made me desist only at the thought of a possible purchase. I had tried something from the contemporary series but in my opinion it did not live up to my expectations. then this came out and finally the weights halved and I decided to try it last week in the store, well now yes, now we are... vote 10 sent on February 22, 2021 |
Sony FE 1.4x Pros: All Cons: a little bit of the price Opinion: Perfect, I tried it with both 100/400 gm and 200/600 sony, no sharpness drop, very light and compact, which makes it very useful for mountain skirmishes when you want to increase the range of the lens even if you obviously lose some brightness, grade 9.8 I don't give 10 just for the slightly high price, recommended! sent on November 21, 2020 |
Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 Pros: quality, weight Cons: nothing relevant Opinion: It is the first Zeiss that enters my backpack and I must say that this lens fully satisfies me at least in combination with sony a7r4. Excellent overall quality, light and therefore ideal for walks in the mountains, sharpness and rendering of superlative colors. I think it will remain forever in my backpack, which has never happened for any other lens I have possessed, promoted with flying colors! sent on July 01, 2020 |
Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Pros: price, internal zoom. Cons: nothing relevant. Opinion: Great value for this Sony lens that I bought about 4 months ago, very good also the internal zoom that does not unbalance its weight during use. The weight is also 600 mm. In conclusion quite satisfied with the purchase even if coming from a fixed optics (nikon 500mm f5.6) a minimum of trauma there was but obviously this I had already put in mind... rating 9 sent on April 13, 2020 |
Sony A7r IV Pros: 61 mpixel, weight. Cons: little things. Opinion: After canon and nikon I wanted to try this new adventure with sony, more out of curiosity than necessity, coming from d850 I wanted to stay in a type of machine "all-rounder" and I am satisfied. I laugh at the little ones that have already been mentioned by those who preceded me in the reviews i.e. the noise to iso not very high but with 61mp. it was almost obvious, the menu a bit complicated, etc... The same applies to the pros i.e. the 61mpixels, autofocus, etc... good light at all! sent on March 29, 2020 |
Nikon AF-S 105mm f/1.4 E ED Pros: blurred, colors, etc.... Cons: a little bit of the weight Opinion: I do not know what to add to how good has already been written on this wonderful lens, it gives that extra something as right to claim from a professional perspective of this level. I went to the store to do some test shots and came home with the lens attached to the reflex. Magical, addictive attention! sent on November 12, 2019 |
Nikon AF-S 500mm f/5.6 E PF ED VR Pros: Weight Cons: none of the relevant Opinion: As I wrote for the little brother's review the 300mm f4 AND PF ED VR this 500mm f5.6 is finally the ideal solution for long hikes in the mountains thanks to its low weight. Obviously not as bright as a 300 mm f 2.8 (which I owned) but if you want more in this area the price and weight rise exponentially and therefore to be taken into account according to your pockets and your needs. I use it with D850, satisfied with the purchase! sent on September 21, 2019 |
Nikon AF-S 300mm f/4 E PF ED VR Pros: on all the lightness Cons: Price Opinion: nikon has made a beautiful super light jewel (ideal for my walks in the mountains), also the optical quality is very good and in combination with the d850 gives me detailed photos and with pastel colors similar to a painting (e.g. see sparviere photo). Perfect also in combination with the 1.4x series III. Nikon with this 300mm f4 and with the 500mm f5.6 is making light and quality fixed optics for naturalist photographers who are a bit tired of carrying kg and kg of equipment, then if you go to the usual paid shed to photograph the usual martin that dives a in the usual bucket then that's a whole other story....... sent on July 01, 2019 |
Nikon AF-S 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5 E ED Fisheye Pros: All Cons: anything relevant Opinion: Either you love or hate you, what to say is that optics that allows you to realize that particular idea or you want to incorporate everything around you into a somewhat distorted view. I owned it when I used canon and I couldn't resist the temptation and I bought it in the nikon version as well. very satisfied, great for set macros, recommended for creatives! sent on June 19, 2019 |
Nikon AF-S 58mm f/1.4 G Pros: Weight, image quality, F 1.4 Cons: Price Opinion: Purchased from a few days to replace the 24/70 (more versatile but too heavy for hiking in the mountains) I wanted to try it for landscape photography especially at photos of the water games in the mountain streams at court distances. I am satisfied with the yield in general (colors, detail...) and do not feel the lack of the stabilizer, also the weight (385 g) makes easier the long hikes in the mountains. Soon I will try it for portraiture and night, fields for which it is intended but from the photos and comments of other Members I see that the results are very satisfactory. sent on February 02, 2019 |
Canon 5D Mark IV Pros: Excellent compromise between detail level and shutter speed, dual pixel raw, 30.4 megapixels Cons: None of them relevant Opinion: Happy with the purchase, great handyman from the landscape, the macro and the avifauna, also the dualpixelraw function that makes it possible to make micro file adjustments. I was a bit hesitant to the birdwatch because coming from the 7d mark 2 I thought it was not all high and instead I have to say that it behaves very well. Obviously the burst and buffer are slightly slower (7fs) than 7dm2 (10fs) but more than enough for my needs. The picture quality is excellent also by cropping a bit, this easily overcomes the apsc magnifier 1.6. sent on May 03, 2017 |
