Molto spesso si tende a generalizzare su quelle che siano le priorità per fare una bella fotografia, la parola "priorità" è qualcosa di molto importante per il genere che tratto e le mie priorità sono spesso molto distanti da quelle che possono essere quelle di uno scatto di moda o paesaggio o still life.
Quando mi occupo di still life pubblicitari trascorro ore ed ore a cercare di capire come far cadere in maniera naturale un asciugamani vicino un flacone di detersivo e come posizionare le luci e la composizione degli elementi. Parlo di foto progettate al 99% su un layout cartaceo, progettate con il supporto di altre figure professionali, foto ragionate e costruite al millimetro che spesso necessitano di formati di file enormi e dettagliatissimi.
Il matrimonio è un qualcosa di diametralmente opposto, le mie priorità in questi servizi sono assolutamente altre:
Quando arrivo a casa della sposa, lei è per tutti, compreso per sestessa, pressochè irriconoscibile, è sotto il phon della parrucchiera che ha i suoi fisiologici 15 minuti di ritardo, in quei momenti cerco di non essere invadente cercando due o tre angoli adatti per realizzare un servizio fotografico, cercando di spostare ciabatte e cianfrusaglie abbandonate per casa in momenti comprensibilmente caotici. I miei 60 sono diventati circa 15 e decine di invitati iniziano ad entrare in casa per un rinfresco aperitivo di rito.
Cerco di evitare il letto come se fosse appestato per non ritrovarmi a fare le foto sul materasso come facevano ai tempi di mia madre ma mi rendo conto che l'unico posto protetto dagli occhi commossi ed indiscreti dei passanti è solo la camera da letto della mamma. Siamo io, la sposa, due assistenti, due operatori video e sua cugina che proprio non vuole scollarsi, tutti in camera da letto, abbiamo un perimetro di 90cm di larghezza intorno al letto coperto da una trapunta improbabile che fa parte di un corredo di 60 anni fa, un armadio a 12 ante di color marrone scuro, una finestra con una tenda ed una poltroncina, il 50% delle volte la tenda è colorata e la poltroncina è scucita, il termosifone spesso è in ghisa ed è semisverniciato.
Guardo l'orologio ho 10 minuti a disposizione e senza bussare il papà irrompe in stanza ricordandoci che siamo in ritardo, riflettendoci credo che ogni figura professionale che sia entrata li in casa fino a quel momento abbia fatto ritardo tranne me.
Giunti a quel punto le mie PRIORITA' sono:
1-Far capire alla sposa che ogni variabile è sotto il mio possente controllo e non c'è proprio nulla di cui preoccuparsi, anche se fuori sta diluviando.
2-Sfruttare una illuminazione naturale o crearne una che sia più naturale possibile.
3-Cercare di eliminare dall'inquadratura tutti gli elementi alieni e poco eleganti, tipo assi da stiro e radiosveglie cinesi.
4-Ipnotizzarla e farle credere che non si sta per sposare, non siamo in 7 in 5 metri quadri ed anche se sta avendo degli sfoghi cutanei dal nervoso è più bella di una modella di Victoria Secret.
5-Cercare di ricordarmi come si fanno le fotografie.
6-Scattare con le batterie cariche.
Quando mi siedo davanti al mio MacPro per fare qualche ora di sana postproduzione quotidiana, ed apro di fianco il mio MacBookPro per partecipare distrattamente al forum e leggo di MTF , grandangoli inadatti alla ritrattistica o angoli di vestiti sovraesposti mi viena da ridere a crepapelle.
Il mio lavoro è qualcosa di diverso, le decine e decine di mie foto che puoi osservare sul web sono tutte realizzate in condizioni del genere, quando mi si fanno i complimenti per la composizione, l'esposizione, l'espressività del soggetto io li apprezzo molto ma mi viene comunque da ridere a crepapelle, io non so di cosa stiate perlando, perchè apparte il mio istinto, la mia esperienza e quella passione che di volta in volta riesco a tirar fuori, il mio lavoro ha lontanamente a che fare con la fotografia ragionata. Faccio le mie foto in uno stato di trance evidentemente posseduto dallo spirito creativo di qualche daguerrotipista del passato, forse uno scapigliato parigino morto nel 1860.
Non mi drogo, non prendo ansiolitici e amo il mio lavoro per quello che è, non mi sopravvalutate troppo sono un ragazzo come voi. Non createvi troppe aspettative dalle mie realizzazioni, lo faccio per passione, per i clienti e per sopravvivere non per vincere trofei o competere nel forum.
Per concludere il mio intervento nello specifico della foto in oggetto:
Reputo il fuoco e la composizione di questo scatto nei parametri della decenza, non è la mia miglior foto e neanche la peggiore, mi sono promesso di pubblicarne 3-4 a settimana finchè mi andrà, non avranno certo tutte la stessa riuscita.
