Infine... a pochi giri dal termine e mentre usciva dai box... la Minardi motorizzata Ford di Michele Alboreto perse una ruota posteriore che essendo stata avvitata in malo modo durante il cambio gomme finì contro il personale presente ferendo alcuni meccanici delle Squadre Ferrari, Lotus Mugen e Benetton Ford.
