Ho da sempre il desiderio di realizzare un reportage completo sulle geishe e sulle maiko giapponesi. Quando nel 2017 sono stato in vacanza in Giappone, con mia moglie, ho abusato della sua pazienza aspettando un paio di giorni nelle viuzze di Kyoto in attesa di riuscire a fotografare qualche geisha o maiko. Alla fine ci sono riuscito. Ero partito leggero, con l'intento di realizzare un reportage sul Giappone solamente con il 50ino 1.8 e la 6d. Sicuramente non dei fulmini di guerra con l'autofocus. Non mi sarei aspettato che fotografarle fosse così difficili. Ho solitamente a che fare con ghepardi e ulule in volo, ma con loro è stato ancora più difficile. Tornerò sicuramente per ricercare qualche altro scatto, mi piacerebbe completare un reportage completo sulla loro vita. Sarebbe bello poter cancellare gli stereotipi occidentali sulle geishe/maiko. Non sono affatto prostitute. Vi consiglio di leggere (anche su Wiki) la loro storia e le difficoltà che affrontano per diventare geisha. E' molto affascinante. Un tempo ce n'erano 80mila in tutto il Giappone, adesso si sono ridotte ad circa 1000/2000, non di più. Questa che si vede in foto è una giovane e bellissima maiko. P.S: da un annetto, in Giappone, è vietato fotografare le geishe/maiko in strade private, pena una multa salata. Posso dire che han fatto benissimo? Quando ero là ho assistito a scene veramente penose da parte di cinesi ed un gruppo di italiani che hanno inseguito e disturbato la povera ragazza in ogni modo. Qualcuno è addirittura arrivato a toccarla...c'è chi le segue anche nelle abitazioni private, senza permesso. C'è un filo sottile che non deve mai essere oltrepassato, mai, soprattutto per una fotografia. Questo vale sia per la naturalistica che per il reportage. Un saluto a tutti. Ale

Thanks Fotodelu, I put the photo because I would like more than anything to know the history of geishas. All too often their profession is misunderstood and they go for little good. I really recommend to all 5min of their time to read the Wikipedia page or even other interesting readings about their history and how difficult it is and how many sacrifices you have to make to become a geisha!
