, 1/125 f/2.5, ISO 800, hand held. London, United Kingdom.

Dull and rainy night in London's East End Brick Lane and when I saw what was left of this house, with its stack of bricks and chimney, with vegetation growing out and even used for advertising, against that misty, blue and modern backdrop, I knew I had to get a shot of it. It was underexposed so much detail opened on the main subject, colours upped a little and vignette added.

What an amazing bit of building! I can't imagine how it can have come to be left alone like that!

Really great processing, Tim - it makes it look tall and proud against the modern structures that surround it!

Ann :))

Thank you Ann - I was particularly drawn to it at the time and glad you liked the processing - it required something a bit bold to get something decent out of it.

Can you see how all the water has been dribbling over the side, on the far left??

Oh, yes! I hadn't noticed that!

Boldness worked! :)

I know you don't (didn't) have time, but I posted three more up in this gallery a couple of days ago, whilst you were 'away'...

Beautiful color contrasts and between modern and efficient, and old and uncared for, but which maintains its beauty and pride.
