Through the double glazed window of a cafe, shot quickly at an angle and whilst to try and have a conversation with my friend, which I had to try and make more important than my potential shot. From where he was sitting, he saw no shadow from this man smoking and wondered what I was getting excited about! To hinder further, I didn't have time to take the polariser filter off the lens and this being a busy thoroughfare, lots of people kept getting into the shot |

This is great, Tim! A photo opportunity too hard to resist! I relate to the problem of not letting friends feel what they're saying is unimportant when I've just spotted something.... :) |

Thank you Ann - I do have to ask if you 'got' my title and its significance? As for being with friends, I was of course, with Des, who knows how I think and work, so wouldn't have been surprised, but this was the first time we'd actually sat down and to chat, having met up over an hour before. |

So now I have to confess that I did not.... I've googled it now though - A Symphony of Horror - not my kind of thing! I can now see the reasoning behind your title - there's a thumbnail with a shadow mounting the stairs...... |

Yes! Probably the seminal horror film image of all time. Horror is not necessarily my genre either but it's such a brilliant film for its time - Germany 1919? And it truly was scary! |

Definitely not one for me, then! :)) |

I find watching a Conservative Party political broadcast MUCH more scary... that'll affect me detrimentally for years, rather than a few minutes of an old flickering silent old movie! |
