#SitiArcheologici A circa 34 Km dalla cittadina di Puno, a 3.840 m. s.l.m., si trova la necropoli preincaica di Sillustani caratterizzata dalle Chullpas, enigmatici resti di torri a base per lo più tonda che raggiungono i dodici metri d'altezza. Le rovine archeologiche di Sillustani sono un cimitero costruito nel XII secolo da una civiltà che occupò la grande zona prima del dominio inca. Furono i Collas [Qolla] (una civiltà di lingua aymara dall'architettura più complessa di quella degli Incas) coloro che costruirono queste maestose torri funerarie. Le più imponenti appartennero ai capi tribù e ai loro sacerdoti più importanti.
