As some of you may know, I have spent a good portion of my summer photographing a pair of Osprey and their offspring in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The female of this pair can be particularly aggressive as evidenced by the photo above. A raptor of this species with a six foot wind span bearing down on you from 150ft. at up to 100 mph can be a bit unnerving. The loud swooshing sound made by the wings and tail feathers just feet above your head, as she finally pulls up out of the dive, is both frightening and exhilarating. It's a sight to see through a 400 mm lens. There is really no way to adequately describe it in words. Just thought I would share it with you all. Wally
