Croce Arcana & the Milky Way sent on August 06, 2014 (12:11) by Massimo Bonini. 15 comments, 1030 views. [retina]

at 24mm, 15 sec f/2.8, ISO 2000, tripod.

I had never done I can not give you advice, but as a first time does not seem bad, I like the stars reflected, is special ... I do not mind at all ;-)

I have not yet ventured into this kind of shots, but I would like to try it myself, mine is a comment from inexperienced.
The photo I like, not bad really. Light pollution makes it a "starry sky at sunset."
One piece of advice I could give is to try a Graduated Filter in the areas of light pollution (use lightroom for PP)

Thanks Mark Allen and the transition
Marco The biggest difficulty in the dark is to compose and focus in this picture I had to clone the backpack that I saw there; for the reflection I was inspired by pictures on the forum (also liked to me) and used a few puddles on the cartload
Allen I used the filter with lg, slightly otherwise noted processing, I'm almost convinced that it was too early, later there would be fewer lights (keep in mind that to the naked eye is absolutely not noticeable no reverb), what you see comes up from Tuscany

maximum with the torch lit on the first floor, put on fire and then remove the autofocus, remember the hyperfocal and you're done .... easy to say ..... other thing:
www.stellarium.org/

to find out the best time for the star ... the pp is fundamental and soooo subjective in this kind of shots, the galactic center is well taken, and with a bit of pp more targeted you highlight it better.

a greeting
Sue

Evocative! :-)
Even this I really like the composition, and for the idea.
But, excuse me if I would, I do not really like the colors ... The 'violet' in the sky, and the yellow light pollution are too pronounced to me, and do not get along very well with the nature of the place. I understand that it is not your fault, and I have not ever made one, by night.
However complienti for the idea
Lorenzo

Thanks to all of the pass, sorry for the delay ... but I was closed for holidays:-D
Allen::-D
Michele:

that is exactly what I did a couple of tests because 2.8 is not easy to put everything in focus (from the first floor to the cross, about twenty meters); thanks for the tip of the site, for the pp I used a video on Juza, later I will do the other tests. A resent !!!!!
Lorenzo: The colors I have not accentuated, they came out of them, I desaturated yellow, purple, no, but I do not remember why ... I'll try, as written to Michael to lose his hand.

Hello Massimo. Tomorrow night it's up to me to experience this kind of shooting 8-) I do not but I have tried so I can not give you advice but your own, for me, is impressive.
