con Sigma 2x EX DG, 1.6 sec f/25.0, ISO 100, tripod. Specie: Colias hyale

Date: 2009.09. Location: Csongrád megye, Hungary. At an early-Fall sunset, in a section of the moor meadow edged by reed I spotted mating Pale Clouded Yellow butterflies (Colias hyale) as they were hanging on a blade of grass. While I was considering the advantageous conditions provided by the sparse flora, I spotted the third participant, the attacking Crab spider (Xysticus kochi), who was hiding on the other side of the blade holding the killed female butterfly very tight. Since I had only a couple of minutes left of the sunset, I very quickly put my equipment together, and I managed to take this close-up shot right at the very last filtered lights.

Very nice, although I would have preferred a composition a bit wider!

A picture to document the moment Particular Although one would have to photograph it by inserting the two butterflies in the frame.
