freeze a dragonfly in flight has to be a very difficult ..... complimentissimi! congelare una libellula in volo deve essere un'impresa assai ardua..... complimentissimi!!! |

Thanks to everyone for the compliments, for Francis and Matty I checked the original to be sure, I have not made any crop for this photo. I have a certain passion for shooting the fly (see more photos in the gallery), but for dragonflies success is more 'simple for bees and wasps, the dragonfly moves at great speed but sometimes it stops and stays in the air, (Flapping its wings but remains stationary), this is the time to snap. This photo was taken near Seefeld in Austria (Tyrol), is a practice very funny dragonflies fly up just warms the air and stop only at night, I think it is better if the environment is a pond or a pond very small because are concentrated in a small space and consequently is able to photograph even from very close. Dexter for me are fixed on the Asiago plateau (20 km from where I live) you can find them in late spring and stationed on numerous pools to water the cows, when the Thursrnata is warm you can go with 200 shots then maybe they all baskets because they all suck ......

the quality of the detail of the body in this shot is truly remarkable! I have one in the gallery (I think the same species among other things) a lot farther with less detail, with the beat completely frozen ... shot at 1/5000 (!) when to stop the beating of a bird fast 1/2000 is more than enough, this is to highlight the operating frequencies of these jets literally crazy ... not to mention the maneuvers they do!
