Il becco a scarpa (Balaeniceps rex ) è un uccello affascinante e per nulla facile da fotografare. Nell' attesa di andare a Ngamba Island per vedere gli scimpanzé mi sono reso conto che il 90% delle foto che vedevo su internet s sulle riviste sono state fatte ad un esemplare in cattività nello zoo di Entebbe.... Però non era questa la situazione che poteva interessarmi per cui mi sono messo alla ricerca di un posto dove fotografarlo in natura e dopo una lunga ricerca ho trovato quello che sembrava essere il posto giusto sempre sul lago Vittoria. Questa foto mi ricorda un bel momento perché, dopo un breve safari in Tanzania ci dovevamo ritrovare con alcuni amici che arrivavano dall' Italia per andare a fotografare principalmente i gorilla e così, visti gli orari d' arrivo diversi c'eravamo accordati di ritrovarci nelle paludi per vedere il becco a scarpa. Mentre stavamo fotografando l' agognato passere sono arrivati gli altri ed incontrarci su delle piccole barchette proprio davanti al becco a scarpa è stato un momento davvero memorabile.....
