L' otocione ( Otocyon megalotis) è un piccolo canide che vive nelle savane africane ed ha abitudini prevalentemente notturne. Solitamente lo si può vedere nei pressi delle tane al mattino presto o verso sera soprattutto nelle giornate nuvolose. Pur non essendo molto raro non è sempre facile da vedere anche perchè solitamente è estremamente poco confidente. Al termine di una bellissima giornata di safari, mentre stavamo tornando al camp, abbiamo trovato 6 bellissimi cuccioli che si erano allontanti dalla tana e che erano così coinvolti dai loro giochi che non si sono curati di noi..
