When Mexico loses its colors sent on June 06, 2013 (1:38) by Michela Checchetto. 31 comments, 1911 views. [retina]

at 135mm, 1/1000 f/6.3, ISO 400, hand held.

This is unfortunately the reality of many countries.
The gaze reluctantly shows his condition.
A good document and at the same time a thing a bit 'sad.
Guessed the title.

I fully agree with Maia and Janka55, there is nothing more sad to see children deprived of their right to live a dignified life and carefree.
Congratulations to the testimony.

Hello Michael, your comment here this interesting series of shots on the trip that you just completed. I am sure that inside you cherish not only the experience with this baby, but how did the 'legends' of your shots this trip you definitely enriched.
I'll give you my warmest congratulations.
Best wishes, stefano.

B unfortunately the reality of many countries.
Unfortunately, it is really so expensive Janka and these scenes in my travels I've seen too often and sometimes in far worse conditions and situations.
Thank you for your nice comment and I have appreciated this document.
A big salute! :-)

@ Mikethebiker
You're right Michael, in certain social contexts, the children are deprived of the joys of their age and, as well, say, their carelessness which unfortunately does not gather any more.
Thank you for your comment and deep that he appreciated this shot:-P
Best wishes
Michela

@ Stefano Morbelli
Hello dear Stephen!
I am sure that inside you cherish not only the experience with this baby, but how did the 'legends' of your shots you this trip has definitely enriched.

Absolutely true! :-P
When I travel but I also try, as much as I can, to grasp the various facets of reality in which I dive.
Everything I see, hear, feel, helps to give me feelings, memories and knowledge that are really for me great wealth.
Thank you for your words and for your compliments always very welcome!
A salute with friendship:-P

Great the "pathos" of this shot! I do not know if it's the most beautiful bouquet of flowers or serious expression of a child to work, while dreaming turns to look in the opposite direction towards which winds its way ...

A beautiful array, Michela, many many congratulations!

Ciaooo ;-)

Hello Michael,
those situations that we are absolutely unacceptable in some countries is the norm .. unfortunately :-(
The look you have "stolen", as well as an underlying sadness, it seems to me, however (and despite all) proud .. and his behavior, you've described in the caption, a bit proves it! Congratulations also to the title fits perfectly! ;-)

What a sad reality!
As you said in your story to another, in Mexico there is something normal to see children help parents in priprio work, but this takes away their right to attend school and, therefore, to have at least basic education, this is a terrible thing!
Do not receive any education is to lose dignity and self-confidence, there is no greater thing "sepere do not know", this also applies x the development of a country.
Anyway congratulations x bringing us to reflect on this harsh reality.
Good night!

Touching what you wrote about this kid and this shot "stolen"! It brought back memories of a similar incident that happened to me in India, Benares, when a child I put a necklace of flowers around his neck and I smiled and walked away thinking of a gift, but he found me after about two hours, among the multitude of people and "colors", claiming her necklace ... I returned it! It was 1980, then as now ... Poverty unites the peoples and behaviors!
Congratulations to the heart Michela!

It 'just so dear Dino ... unfortunately.
Thank you so much for your comment! :-)
Big hugs grandeee!

@ Adolfo Panarello
Dear Adolfo,
I carefully read your words and I really think that his eyes went over the road and in addition to its current condition.
As long as we dream, we hoped, "salvation" is still possible, and in his attitude I sensed a kind of rebellion.
A beautiful array

Thank you very much!
A special ciaoo ;-)
Michela

@ Herman

Ermanno Very true!
In his eyes and in his attitude there was a lot of pride mixed with a kind, as I said before, rebellion and impatience.
Thank you very much for your nice comment and for appreciating, in addition to shoot, even the title. :-P
Best wishes
Michela

@ Marco Masotti
A punch in the stomach, quoto Herman.
Seeing these shots, I consider myself a lucky person.

Hello Mark!
When I see situations like this (and in India and Africa, I've seen far worse ...) I think I'm lucky. The childhood of this baby is certainly not comparable to mine.
But the fact remains that maybe one day it will be a better person than I am. ;-)
Thank you so much! :-P
A salutone
Michela

@ Roberto Ducoli
will never change and 'their culture, their land .......

Sure Roberto!
Their culture is this but I do not think that these children havea choice and I also believe that at least some parents would really like to be able to offer them something different, and a future with greater prospects. As you say, our life but I imagine that they appear very distant and, who knows, maybe even not at all desirable.
Thanks dear! :-P

@ Fabio Castagna
I do not receive any instructions it is to lose dignity and self-confidence, there is no greater thing "sepere do not know", this also applies x the development of a country.

You are absolutely right Fabio, a country can hope to grow and develop also and especially through education that receives those who populate it.
I am pleased that this has been a source of reflections ... eventhough, unfortunately, love.
Thank you very much Fabio! :-P :-)

@ Afrikachiara
Dear friend,
India and tell me I can not think too many scenes of life to which I have witnessed.
A large, deep eyes and those little hands of kids begging for money and candy and my deep sadness and difficulty in saying "no" knowing that I would only hurt them.
Thanks for sharing this memory of you and share my feelings.
A abbraccioooo!
Michela

PS: sincere congratulations for your well deserved EP! I celebrate with you! :-P:-P:-P

it seems to me a look maybe hard but proud and conscious of having to sell all roses for him to eat and maybe even someone else of his family, :-( strong and certainly the contrast between the child and the roses are perhaps the most flower loved the world while observing this shot I thought maybe for the kids is not like the roses ... :-| :-|

Jerry a warm greeting.

is still a great shot.

I thought that maybe it is not for children as for the roses ...

Often I think it's really that Jerry and not only in Mexico. :-(
Thank you very much for what you've written and profound for appreciating this photo.
Best wishes to you too! :-)

Certainly this sad shooting and pointing straight to the heart, hard look and definitely proud but also a 'facial expression that tells how this little man has learned very early on his skin and the often bitter taste of life. Congratulations once again have created a symbolic image and of great interest. Hello.
