Prima di descrivere la Necropoli Etrusca di Monterozzi a Tarquinia con le sue stupende tombe decorate vi presento queste magnifiche opere subito dopo l'ingresso alla necropoli, un vasto spiazzo ospita alcuni grandi funghi di pietra. Sono le tombe di età villanoviana (XI-VIII secolo), provenienti dalla vicina necropoli di Bruschi-Falgari. Si tratta di grosse pietre scavate all'interno, con coperchio, entro cui venivano poste le ceneri dei defunti e il corredo funebre. Gli Etruschi a differenza dei Villanoviani inumano i morti, costruendo dei letti funebri (all'interno delle tombe) e poi vi ponevano i corpi dei defunti. Tutto cio sarà il proseguo del racconto fotografico allinterno delle tombe di Montetozzi.
