Situata interamente in territorio valdostano, la Grivola ( 3 969 m)è la più alta montagna tutta italiana dopo il Gran Paradiso. Il suo aspetto piramidale la rende facilmente riconoscibile da ogni lato, è considerata da molti come una delle più belle montagne alpine: ha infatti ispirato poeti come Giosuè Carducci, che ne hanno cantato il fascino (l'ardua Grivola bella). E una cima visibile da molte località valdostane , qui è come si presenta da Gimillan, sopra Cogne risalendo i pendii verso Tzaplana. E' stato utilizzato un filtro ND per allungare l'esposizione e rendere le nuvole più vaporose e rendere un leggero movimento.
