Cosmatesque floor with geometric decorations sent on April 17, 2024 (11:44) by Lorisb. 27 comments, 390 views. [retina]

at 16mm, 1/20 f/5.6, ISO 2500, hand held. Tuscania (comune italiano), Italy.

Internally, the church is divided into three naves, is lit by slit windows and has a raised transept.

The central nave is characterized by a cosmatesque floor (polychrome decoration with geometric motifs made of tiles of various materials)
Above the right aisle there is a ciborium of the thirteenth century and the entrance to reach the crypt

while the left aisle houses several sarcophagi of Etruscan origin. Image below.

A few days ago I read a comment where it was said that there is no need to thank a like or a comment for a visit
. Personally, I consider thanking to be a form of elegance and superfine education
