Fu realizzato tra il 1908 ed il 1910, è il più riconoscibile e famoso tra i ponti di Wrocław. Inoltre, grazie alla sua sagoma caratteristica, è divenuto uno dei simboli della città oltre ad essere un monumento della tecnica, noto agli ingegneri di tutto il mondo, grazie all'utilizzo di soluzioni costruttive eccezionali: il ponte è sostenuto da due piloni in muratura rivestiti in granito. Ciascuno di essi, a forma di porta trionfale, è costituito da due torri unite da un arco. Sui piloni poggia la costruzione in acciaio da cui dipende l'originalità del ponte. Si tratta di fasce portanti realizzate in lamiere d'acciaio chiodate disposte in piano (unico esempio di questo tipo al mondo). Ad esse sono fissati i tiranti che sostengono le travi, dalle quali dipende la rigidità della piattaforma.
