30 Dicembre 2022 Gerusalemme Mea Shearim - Quartiere Ultra-Ortodosso Ho cercato il ritratto vincente per tutta una mattina senza portare a casa niente di buono. Quando fermo qualcuno per chiedere se posso fare un ritratto tutti rifiutano in maniera scorbutica, altri invece cambiano marciapiede alla vista della mia camera. Sembra che in questo quartiere non amino essere fotografati dai turisti, lo ritengono una cosa poco ortodossa. Esco dal quartiere deluso, e desolato mi metto seduto alla pensilina del Bus. E' Venerdì e tutti gli ebrei si preparano per lo Shabbat, la loro festa del riposo, che inizia al tramonto. Improvvisamente verso le 17:30 hanno iniziato ad uscire dal quartiere per andare in preghiera al muro del pianto, tutti vestiti con abiti e cappelli tipici.... FANTASTICI... troppo belli per non essere fotografati! Mi faccio coraggio, impugno la macchina e mi faccio sotto. Il sole è tramontato, alzo gli ISO. Con grande sorpresa quando chiedo se posso fare una foto le persone si concedano senza problemi, addirittura sorridono! Ma perché fuori dal quartiere SI e dentro NO? Ho capito. All'interno del quartiere le persone avevano paura del giudizio degli altri, delle malelingue, ecco perché! Uno dei ritratti più sudati di sempre.
