Sono appena tornato da questo viaggio incredibile con destinazione il mare di Weddell. Un viaggio dedicato alla ricerca del pinguino imperatore, fuori dalla rotta "classica" (se si può dire) della penisola antartica. Le possibilità di riuscita erano basse (e si era messo in conto) a causa dell'instabilità del meteo e per il fatto che Snow Hill Island sia raggiungibile solo tramite un volo in elicottero di circa 15 minuti, con decollo dalla poppa della nave ancorata al limite dell'ice pack. Dopo qualche giorno di meteo decisamente avverso si è aperta una possibilità e venerdì 18 novembre il sogno è diventato realtà. Tutta la fatica di 2 anni di risparmi e di un viaggio infinito e fisicamente provante (soprattutto in nave) sono stati ripagati dalla vista di questi splendidi esemplari. Sono la persona più felice del mondo
