La star photography è una disciplina meravigliosamente futile. Nessuno ti paga per farla (almeno nel mio caso), ti costringe a macinare migliaia di chilometri alla ricerca di posti remoti ed il successo è completamente basato sul fato. Una perturbazione di qualche giorno ed i piani volano via, insieme ai litri di benzina, le ore di scouting e di programmazione, i chilometri nelle gambe e le lunghe ore in auto. Eppure proprio per questo rimane qualcosa di incredibilmente affascinante, nessuna garanzia, nessun premio se non il sogno di scattare quell'attimo in mezzo alle stelle. E il viaggio, le facce e le voci di chi incontri, i momenti di speranza nel vedere il cielo aprirsi per un attimo e quelli di disperazione quando si richiude, sono le cose che ti rimangono dentro e che ti ripagano anche quando quello scatto non riesci a farlo. E poi c'è sempre la prossima volta, la prossima speranza di essere al posto giusto nel momento giusto sotto quelle stelle impressionanti... La speranza deve sempre esserci, perchè certe volte, raramente, quello scatto riesci a farlo davvero ed in quel momento, per un breve istante, sei felice. ps: sullo sfondo, dietro la grande duna, un fulmine in mezzo alle nuvole temporalesche. Perchè the rain-maker non fallisce mai, anche quando alla fine il cielo è limpido, sul Sahara infuria il temporale.
