A Chianale, al confine tra il Piemonte e la Francia, si può respirare tutto il magico profumo delle Alpi. Frazione del comune di Pontechianale, il paese chiude l'Alta Val Varaita col suo lago circondato da boschi e pinete. Salendo si arriva al bellissimo villaggio di Chianale, tutto in pietra situato a 1.800 metri di altezza, diviso in due agglomerati dal torrente Varaita.
