Un giorno mi è stata rivolta questa domanda: non trovi che i tuoi reportage, essendo posati, siano meno potenti ed efficaci rispetto a dei reportage spontanei? Ho cercato di mettere a fuoco una risposta. Con le mie foto voglio documentare questioni sociali contemporanee sottese a storie degne di essere raccontate, allo stesso modo di un reportage. Per farlo, io che non sono fotoreporter, ho bisogno di cercare i temi, trovare i soggetti, immaginare le pose, riflettere sui significati e sulle connessioni, organizzare le sessioni e la logistica. Un lavoro immane, che svolgo da sola insieme al mio compagno, e che porto avanti solo perché sento il fuoco di volerlo e doverlo fare. Non potrei mai trasmettere queste mie visioni recandomi in un posto e cominciando a scattare, a meno che non abbia - e non li ho - mesi a disposizione per perdermi. Accetto quindi la definizione di “posati”? riferita ai miei reportage, ma quello che racconto è tutto vero, le persone che ritraggo hanno nomi e storie vere, il mio slancio verso di loro è sincero, e tra di noi esiste un patto. Poi, pur trovando infinite ispirazioni dal cinema e dalla fotografia, il mio obiettivo è cercare la mia strada, il mio racconto, le mie pose, i miei soggetti. Non mi piace definirmi fotografa, mi sento più un'illustratrice con la macchina fotografica, che prima visualizza l'immagine nella mente e poi la realizza. Rischiando di sbagliare, a volte anche di irritare, ma sempre in modo del tutto personale. Una fotografia per essere significativa deve in qualche modo colpire, e ci sta che qualcuno se ne possa sentire offeso. Voglio che i miei racconti parlino dell'oggi, meglio se di cose che i più ignorano. Non trovo nulla di interessante nel replicare un progetto già realizzato, cosa che invece pare vada per la maggiore tra i fotografi non di professione, ho in mente ad esempio i set pensati per i turisti dell'immagine asiatici od occidentali, dove tutto è già visto e nulla è raccontato. Quando sono con i miei soggetti, che ho a lungo agognato di incontrare e che in quel momento mi pare di conoscere da sempre, sono tutta pervasa dal fuoco della mia personalissima visione, che è anche influenzata da quello che accade quando sono con loro. #SkinProject #BeyondTheLine #mazeofmetamorphosis
