con Nikon TC-17E II, 1/1000 f/7.1, ISO 2500, hand held.

Ho avuto la fortuna di trovare il sito di nidificazione di un Picchio tridattilo a ca. 1900 mt/slm. Dopo un po' di foto al nido con scatto a distanza, ho cercato di vedere dove cercava tutto quel cibo con cui nutriva i piccoli. L'ambiente è rappresentato da una pecceta dove gli anni passati, molti, hanno effettuato tagli e lasciato le vecchie ceppaie al suolo. Il tempo le formiche, gli insetti xilofagi e i picchi, piano piano stanno consumando il legno che in questo modo tra un paio d'anni sparira' naturalmente, non prima di aver nutrito varie generazioni del nostro picchio.
