Io però l'avrei vista molto meglio, senza ombra di dubbio, nella galleria degli uccelli: sono loro il vero soggetto, loro e l'avventura della migrazione. Perché le foto agli uccelli non sono solo bellissimi primi piani, ma anche immagini come questa che ti fanno viaggiare con l'immaginazione e ti portano là, lontano, in posti ai confini del mondo. Posti dove gli uccelli ci sono arrivati con le loro ali, partendo dall'Europa, e noi ci arriviamo grazie a foto come questa.
Perfetta, secondo me, anche la scelta di includere un individuo in volo: sottolinea il significato di quel crinale come luogo di sosta, dove passeranno la notte, in attesa della mattina successiva quando riprenderanno il volo verso l'Africa subsahariana. Che è là, dove sta tramontando il sole (beh... più o meno... ma è bello immaginarlo così  ). Ma avranno ancora tante insidie da affrontare, perché tra loro e la meta ci sono ancora monti e mari e deserti... e quei monti che si perdono nella foschia sembrano ricordare all'osservatore, con il loro profilo incerto e cattivo, la durezza dei posti che saranno costretti a attraversare.

Concludo dicendo solo che, a vederla, mi ha fatto venire una grandissima voglia di essere lì. E in parte posso dire di esserci stato, almeno per qualche attimo. Non credo che da una foto si possa chiedere di più.
