Very nice, both the photo and the caption 8-) An image that takes you back to other times when popular devotion was still felt. 8-)
This image takes me back to my childhood, when with my maternal grandmother, I reached at the height of the country walk, a country chapel, a little smaller than this one, to lay a flower and a prayer at the foot of Our Lady.
I'm glad - and I only found out a month ago by retracing in the car the same now paved road, wider and lined with many buildings - that this hat is still in the same place as 60 years ago, but almost incorporated into the building that was built next door.
Ciao, Carlo

Dear Carlo, I read with pleasure your beautiful comment and sweet memory. Votive chapels are the roots of our poor art and ancient and popular religious culture. Outside the cities the landscape is sprinkled with these newsstands full of grace that houses our protection. It is appreciable that they are "respected" and not outraged by graphic signs or vandalism.
Thane, of the very welcome presence and of having shared a memory.
Cyo, Vincenzo
ps. christian sentiment prevails in the film saga of Guareschi's characters; in one episode, I don't remember in which film, your own memory is represented: the unmothered chapel is incorporated and an integral part of the building built around.

I would have preferred to have more negative space for framing the capital but I was at the edge of the path and a step back I would have slipped into the valley.
Thank you a thousand Werner for the passage and appreciation.
Buona evening, Vincenzo
