Nella parte sinistra della foto è parzialmente immortalata la Colonia Fara: fu voluta dal Partito Nazionale Fascista nel 1935 come luogo di villegiatura estivo per i fanciulli, nel quadro dei programmi di welfare del regime. Progettata dall'ing. Camillo Nardi Greco (che aveva già realizzato le colonie di Savignone – Renesso e Montemaggio nel 1933 – e di Rovegno – nel 1934 -) e dall'arch. Lorenzo Castello, venne inaugurata el 1938 alla presenza di Benito Mussolini. Si chiamò Fara poichè dedicata al Generale Gustavo Fara. Durante la seconda guerra mondiale venne requisita ed adibita ad ospedale militare per tornare, nel 1946, ad essere una colonia estiva. Tra il 1947 e il 1955, ospitò i profughi d'Istria. Negli anni '60 venne convertita in “Ostello per la gioventù italiana”, cambiando denominazione in Faro. Negli anni '80 il Comune di Chiavari la riutilizzò parzialmente come sede di un'associazione sportiva e di una scuola elementare. La mancanza di manutenzione portò al completo abbandono della struttura alla vigilia del 2000. Dopo una lunga serie di vicende burocratiche e legali, nel 2015, sono iniziati i lavori di ristrutturazione, ed attualmente è tornata al suo splendore
