Thank you for the welcome advice. Since you're interested Federico, this castle from the historical point of view is one of the most important in the world of the Middle Ages. The Castle was completed by Federico but the Norman period. It was an authentic castle of war, impregnable. There were as many as 4 popes and councils in the course of one of these, hence, Pope Urban II summoned the First Crusade to the Holy Land. Federico accompanied by his adviser Pier delle Vigne (Dante XIII singing hell) you promulgated the famous Liber Augustalis (Constitutions of Melfi) a series of laws that dictated the rules of the Holy Roman Empire, starting from the Corpus Juris Civilis of Justinian ... And then .......... succeeded many other things that you'll know if you're going to Melfi. Inside is a beautiful museum which houses exhibits interessantissimi. Just a clarification Melfi is located in Basilicata which however is not far from Puglia. Saluti Angela
