Istanbul è la settima città più grande del mondo con 14 milioni di persone, che tutti i giorni decidono di vivere e animare una delle megalopoli più variopinte e complicate della terra. Perchè a Istanbul la routine così come la conosciamo non esiste, ogni metro racchiude uno scenario unico e grottesco, ogni momento è potenzialmente carico di ironia o tragedia. Non è una città semplice, si passa da quartieri dove non è possibile vedere il viso di una donna ad altri dove le ragazze fumano, si tingono i capelli e consumano alcolici, si finisce in mercati dove a malapena si riesce a muovere un passo, fino a zone residenziali che sembrano fluttuare in una tranquillità non propria di questa mastodontica metropoli. E così ho deciso di dare alla gente di questo posto un ulteriore scintilla di vita, documentando la loro complicata e bizzarra "non routine" con l'approccio che meglio potesse descrivere questa città, catturando i momenti, le tradizioni e i contrasti di questo angolo unico al mondo.
