golden eagle exchange of prey flying 1: The launch sent on March 22, 2017 (18:28) by Cadl. 15 comments, 766 views. [retina]

con Canon EF 2.0x III, 1/3200 f/6.3, ISO 640, hand held. Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, Italy. Specie: Aquila chrysaetos

Can I ask you when you did this shooting? I witnessed a similar scene.

Thank you.

So it is the same scene! :-or

or comuque an episode that was repeated.
I've done it to 400mm and are not able to keep the fire (it was really far) and from another angle.

I was intrigued because I can not understand this ritual. Not sure whether it's a courtship, perhaps a simple exercise for the young fighter.
I think it's a tuft of grass and not a "prey" or on the remains, but it is difficult to say for sure because the photos are not sharp enough.

Hello and thanks.

The scene is definitely the same (forums power!), But has been repeated many times under my eyes. I also thought about an exercise for the young, but the period is exactly what the courtship, while the chicks will be born in a couple of months and learn to fly and hunt later. I did research on the net and I also showed the photos to a Lipu expert, to clarify the meaning of a truly spectacular behavior and for me ever seen (not pictured). Hello

Thank you for your appreciation. Your story, very engaging, shows that these evolutions are not just springy (as I thought).
Who knows if we will still have a show like that. I hope so. Hello
