England's Freezing Fog sent on January 25, 2017 (9:23) by Timk2. 7 comments, 1121 views. [retina]

at 17mm, 1/80 f/6.3, ISO 400, hand held.

I was out for 6 hours in the freezing and foggy conditions, yesterday. But it was only when I came across this lake in Downton's 'The Moot' formal gardens at 16.00 hrs that was completely frozen over that I realised just how cold it had been, all day. Not my best picture from the day by any means but I wanted to include it to show the unusual weather conditions. The Loggia, here in orange, from 1897 tries to show itself through the incessant mist.

I also photographed snowdrops in the same gardens.

It certainly was chilly! And we're entering our third day of fog...... I'm off out walking in it shortly!

Thank you Ann! Images can be found out there - good luck! I'm in, waiting for housing repairs, so probably won't be out myself.
