at 421mm, 1/640 f/9.0, ISO 800, hand held. Parco Naturale della Maremma, Italy. Specie: Geronticus eremita

I've never seen this kind of bird, but saw its particular aspect and given its rarity, I wanted to sign the petition against poaching: practice that brings discredit to the human race.
Beautiful pictures and details.

Thanks so much :-)

The Hermit Ibis, as a migrant species have become extinct in Europe for many years and in the Middle East was left only one copy, if I remember correctly. The Waldrapp project is trying to reintroduce the species in Europe starting with subjects taken from areas where they are resident and insegnadogli to migrate.
At the time, the subjects of the subject are wintering WWF oasis of Orbetello (there are about fifty). Nearby, with a little 'luck, they can be observed. I Have had a lot of luck, 'cause I landed in the farm garden (near Grosseto) where staying: -o

I'm in Lucca, but I could think of a little trip in the spring.
