Vi propongo la famosa Nebulosa Ic1396 in Cefeo, ripresa in una uscita mordi e fuggi sui Lessini Veronesi venerdì scorso, 29 scatti da 180s a 800iso, con una Canon 5D MarkII raffreddata e un obiettivo Samyang 135mm a f2, il resto è tutto merito del cielo. Sui confini a nord della Nebulosa si nota una stella di colore giallo oro, questa è la famosa Stella Granata ovvero Mu Cephei, una supergigante rossa di tipo spettrale M2 Ia, le cui dimensioni sono colossali, possiede infatti un raggio 1420 volte quello del Sole, e se si trovasse al suo posto, occuperebbe tutto lo spazio fino alle orbite di Giove e Saturno. Si conoscono solo sette stelle più grandi, tra quelle di cui è stato possibile stimare il raggio e comunque è l'astro più grande che sia possibile vedere ad occhio nudo sia pur non facilmente.
