Il paese, che si chiamava Paerno, era vicino a Ivrea (TO). E' stato abbandonato nel tardo medioevo e smantellato progressivamente fino al '700, quando è rimasta in piedi solo la chiesa che è poi stata distrutta: è rimasto solo questo splendido campanile in mezzo al prato.
