In England? In August?? Yes!!! This morning at 7a.m. Took 100's, on high drive trying to get one perfect shot. Not one. Focus manual, you just have to shoot and hope! Lens wide open and still an insanely high iso!! (Very dull but trying to get a fast shutter speed) #BlackAndWhite

Raining? In England? In August??
Obviously once in a lifetime chance to get this kind of shot. MrGreenMrGreenMrGreen
If it rains again in some day, maybe you could try with slower shutter speed. I just checked one of my photos with similar idea. I used 1/250 or 1/320 and the drop makes quite a high "splash" (I can't explain it better). I was waiting under a rainwater pipe that the drop will fall of. Manual focusing, some patience and a little bit of luck. ;-):-P
I hope you can understand what I am trying to explain...

Thank you! I DO understand and I tried all sorts of shutter speed settings, including much slower than you said, as it was with a stabilised lens. Unfortunately, they all looked a wet mess with no shape at all and it was only after I used shutter speeds above 1/1000 did they get even 'interesting'. And whilst I was standing under a covered area, me and the camera and lens were all getting wet by the splash back as the rain was torrential. An experiment, yes, and worth trying when it is impossible to do anything outside at all!

Thank you Mattew, I wouldn't describe it as gorgeous but worth trying whilst it is raining so hard.

It makes very well the pouring rain. :-) Compliments.

Thank you again - it was about as good as I could get under the (very wet) circumstances!
