Mentre il Duomo era ancora in costruzione, si attese alle ornamentazioni interne. Nella parrocchiale, operarono vari artisti già impiegati da Alfieri nei cantieri di corte a Torino. I capitelli corinzi, le decorazioni delle finestre, i fioroni negli archi delle finestre furono eseguiti dallo stuccatore luganese Carlo Giuseppe Bollina (tra il 1762 e il 1763), secondo il disegno alfieriano. Le cappelle furono assegnate dal Comune nel 1763, facendo carico ai titolari di ornarle e di far costruire l'altare secondo i disegni dell'Alfieri; cappelle e battistero furono ornati dal Bollina; parte degli ovoli del cornicione furono eseguiti dallo stuccatore Sant Bartolomeo. L'altare maggiore fu realizzato dai capimastri scalpellini Andrea Rossi di Arisio e Francesco Bottinelli di Viggiù; essi operarono sul progetto dell'Alfieri. Il manufatto fu realizzato con marmi pregiati: il bigio di Frabosa, il bardiglio di Valdieri (donato da Carlo Emanuele III in visita al Duomo nel 1763), il marmo persichino, l'alabastro di Busca, la seravezza di Firenze, il verde di Susa, il giallo di Verona; la balaustra fu realizzata in bardiglio. Nel 1764, furono realizzate le due orchestre, secondo il disegno dell'Alfieri. Sempre in quell'anno, Bollina formò le quattro grandi statue in stucco dei Dottori della Chiesa (S. Atanasio, S. Agostino, S. Ambrogio, S. Giovanni Crisostomo), poste nei nicchioni praticati nel muro di navata tra cappella e cappella.
