In questo ambiente, dove gli ospiti attendevano di essere ricevuti dal sovrano, emerge tutta la cultura e l'amore per la classicità di Pelagio Palagi che dedicò la vivace decorazione policroma del piccolo ambiente ad Apollo, portatore del carro del Sole e protettore delle Arti. La volta, opera di Vitale Sala, è affrescata con scene riguardanti la divinità, mentre la fascia inferiore raffigura i giochi che le venivano dedicati a Delfi. I personaggi dipinti sulle pareti dal pittore Carlo Bellosio, ritratti come seduti in attesa, raffigurano alcuni grandi letterati e poeti dell'antichità, da Omero a Dante, tutti illuminati dal divino Apollo. Da notare anche il camino, le specchiere in bronzo dorato ed il pavimento a mosaico, eseguito su disegno del Palagi. La sala si presenta come un esempio perfetto di arredo in stile "neo impero".
