Durante l' ultimo appostamento alla mangiatoia, sono rimasto molto sorpreso dalla visita di un'altro maschio di Picchi Rosso Maggiore, sapendo quanto siano animali molto territoriali. Negli ultimi 2 anni , avevo solo assistito a visite di una femmina , la compagna del "capo", ma di nessun altro individuo. Il nuovo arrivato sapeva sicuramente di aver sconfinato , infatti si muoveva freneticamente guardandosi intorno di continuo. Tra l' altro il suo aspetto dava l' impressione di un individuo che non se la passava bene. Ma mi ha fatto piacere constatare che dopo aver ingoiato i primi bocconi, abbia iniziato a riempire il becco senza inghiottire, tipico segnale di un adulto che deve portare il cibo ai piccoli. Tornato a casa , confrontando foto dell' anno scorso, ho scoperto che si trattava del figlio del capo , il piccolo nato nel 2014 che dopo lo svezzamento era stato scacciato dal territorio. Nonostante l' aspetto non proprio da modello, era riuscito a superare l'inverno, trovare una compagna e accoppiarsi. Sicuramente non era bello e in forma come il padre (foto successiva) che ha sempre beneficiato della mangiatoia , ma era riuscito a superare il primo inverno, solitamente il più difficile per i nuovi nati. #PicchioRossoMaggiore
