Beautiful! ........ Primarily ...
Second: I'm undecided on Samyang 85: worth it as surrender?
Let me explain: many of my friends and fans tell me to let go and take a 85 g Nikon, which not only has autofocus, but assure me, is even better as yield (eg already at 1.8, 2.5, 2.8 etc ... ), beyond the opening slightly larger than the Samyang ....
What about you, who uses it (the Samyang), and also uses it well?

Thanks,

Alberto - Tzeol on JuzaPhoto

Hello Alberto I was pleased to read your comments, I too was undecided on nikon 85mm 1.8 g compared to Samyang ...
In the end I chose Samyang for an economic issue and why to use that I would have done suited me perfectly.
The Samyang has the advantage that it can be used on film because of the physical aperture ring, and being designed only for manual focus, the focus ring is much more fluid and precise than the nikon 1.8 g.
At the level of the optical Samyang compared to nikon 1.4 at the maximum opening and less sharp at the center and the sharper the edges, for the rest of the difference in sharpness between the various lenses is not significant, repeat comparing it with the 85mm 1.4

In summary:
if you do not have a huge budget and you know shoot well in manual focus vto the Samyang
otherwise nikon 85mm 1.8g spend more have a goal less solid, less open but the AUTO FOCUS.

At the end of the day it boils down to a matter of usability, you have to evaluate what is best for you, but in any case you can not decide between two optical performance much:-)

EDIT: I forgot to add the only flaw of Samyang..la minimum distance of focus, for you are forced to face shots only to crop

How kind! accurate and comprehensive .... to the minimum distance of focus we're there, I read that 85 g is not just a sample (I think about 80 cm minimum ...).
Greetings .... look ... I'll let you know .... they are in talks for a 85 g ... and I think I'll go on that ................. ............ but that f 1.4 Samyang ...... !!!!!!!

Thanks Alberto, choose is never an easy choice.
F \\ 1.4 is magic but it is not for every use, but when shooting at the maximum aperture is a pleasure.

Take it as a sample only changes -0.34 esp +7 contrast, directly from my vacation in Vieste

ps
I the Samyang I brought it home to 200 coffee used as new, I could not say no;)

Really good portrait, Matthew, I like the colors desaturated, soft, composition and expression of the model, but it is perhaps too covered by hair that glide on the face.

Marco hello thanks for the ride, I asked specifically to the model to cover part of the face with hair to create an effect I do not see, so it was a deliberate thing :)
is that I wanted to try to do something different :)

Perfectly legal, I am not convinced by personal taste, not that I think is wrong! :)
