Passeggiando per Calvi dell'Umbria, in lontananza ho visto questa grazioso paesino. Mi son fermato ed ho fatto un giro sia nel centro abitato, che nell'alto borgo abbandonato di Rocchettine. Entrando, ho notato gli operosi abitanti che stavano addobbando con le luci del Natale la loro Piazza, che verso sera ha indossato i magnifici colori dell'ora blu, con Venere in alto, quasi come una stella sul campanile della Chiesa di San Sebastiano Rocchette è uno dei borghi del Lazio, patrimonio di tesori artistici, immersa nella terra della Sabina laziale. Le origini, legate a quella della vicina Rocchettine – oramai abbandonata da tempo -, risalgono al XIII secolo quando iniziarono i lavori per la costruzione dei rispettivi Castelli. Sconosciuto è il fondatore del centro sabino che all'epoca si chiamava Rocca Bertalda. Dell'antico castello oggi non c'è più traccia. Ancora oscuri rimangono i motivi dell'abbandono di Rocchettine mentre Rocchette è rimasta abitato. Pur subendo i cambiamenti dell'era moderna, ha saputo mantenere il suo aspetto medievale.
