Uno dei Borghi più belli d'Italia, poco più di 1000 metri d'altezza, Scanno, in provincia de L'Aquila, letteralmente adagiato sull'Alta Valle del Sagittario, lì dove la natura ha creato un cañon con pareti strette e profonde in un paesaggio verdeggiante e prosperoso. Circondato dai Monti Marsicani . Borgo incantevole reso celebre anche da fotografi come Henri Cartier Bresson , che nel 1951 soggiornò a Scanno e i suoi scatti sono diventati celebri nel mondo . Anche Mario Giacomelli negli anni '50 dedicò parte del suo lavoro a Scanno.
