Fiore di Hipericum Perforatum - - - In attesa delle nuove fioriture, mi sono dedicata a questo scatto della scorsa estate. In PP ho agito sul profilo RGB ed in particolare sul canale del blu accentuandone un po' la tonalità.

OT .... a little bit!
The name is what it is but a little more 'here:
St. John's Wort (L.) or St. John's wort or Scacciadiavoli (Hypericum perforatum) or grass smile ;-), is a medicinal plant of the genus Hypericum with antidepressant and anti-viral. It is a perennial semi-evergreen, glabrous, with erect stem covered from two longitudinal stripes in relief. It is easily recognizable even when not in bloom because it has the backlit leaves that appear pitted, they are actually small vesicles oily hence the name perforatum, while the margins are visible points blacks, glandular structures containing hypericin (hence the name grass red oil), these glandular structures are presentespecially in the petals. The leaves are opposite oblong. The golden yellow flowers with 5 petals delicate. They are grouped in panicles that reach the maximum flowering to June 24th (anniversary of St. John), from which the popular name of "St. John's Wort." Some randomized trials have shown that St. John's wort has an efficacy comparable to some drugs in the treatment of mild to moderate depression. It is sometimes used in combination with other products, also for the herbal treatment of some forms of anxiety. (Source: Wikipedia)

When I photograph flowers then I get curious and try to know them better, and sometimes I find very interesting things! ;-)
From the florist can not find it but yes in some glasshouse. I'm lucky, it grows in the beautiful garden of my mother. :-)

has already been defined and an explosion ... that sounds like: a small big bang of color. Beautiful, congratulations. It is not just that St. John's wort give happiness, but it has been used in teas to calm and to raise levels of melatonin (which today is so fashionable for sleep disorders of childhood). What really works .... another story. That picture is nice ... it is safe. C.

Hello Miky, I have defined this, and I still do, a composition certainly impact of an explosion of color as fireworks (which I assimilated, as you know, your great exuberance) ... Though, and I only do it here on J, I remember this little note: in this type of picture, a little 'soft and deliberately blurred, the eye keeps wandering in search of a point to focus here, however, finds many and dispersed in most areas of the image (the colored tip of some pistils) and, consequently, can not define the one on which stop. Try to look good is focused on what makes your eye and then let me know ... Snack:-P
