Pinnacles Desert sent on October 21, 2013 (9:21) by Mooploop. 47 comments, 3761 views.

, f/11.0, ISO 100, tripod. Pinnacles Desert, Australia.

would close some of the highlights, the rest also excellent for composition.

Ps .. I would not do multiple exposures on camera, I find it best to let them with comfortable and with greater control in front of the pc unless you do not do it in order not to fill the memory of so many images of high weight. ;-)

Thanks Mushroom and Max
@ Max was a test view of the mysterious function recently discovered and never seen use.
It is impossible to obtain the same result with a single exposure. Why increasing the time I almost burned the whole sky not getting the blur of the clouds that I really like ..

maybe I explained bad .. I meant that rather use the Multi-Exposure on camera is better to do more shots and then merge them to the pc .... the riultato will be more controllable and you see the clouds moved in anyway. ;-)

I also prefer .. but you mean merge multiple shots at the same exposure time only made at different times in order to melt the clouds in different positions?

yes, that is a road ..
but you can also merge multiple shots at different times to get the motion of the clouds and also simultaneously vary the exposure to increase the dynamic range ....

But here finding backlit by the way I could increase the exposure time because I was losing every detail of the sky and clouds ..

precisely ... For example you could do brk of 3 shots + -2 and then after 30 seconds do another series, and so on to say 10-20 series (I threw hypothetical numbers, depending on the situation) then fuse the various brk and then finally merge the results.

or do 10-20 shots in series of 3, that is the first to OEV, the second-and third 2ev to +2 ev, and so on separated by 30 seconds. and then with the appropriate sw mix everything (everything in front of the pc then considers useful to the mix), you would have saved both ways. ;-)

or use a gnd and focus only to the interval shooting to make the sky moved. :-)

Interesting this function "Multiple Exposure". Before taking an ND filter I had tried a similar thing with the 350D by taking a thirty shots and then averaging them in PP, achieving a similar result. So much effort, but if you have it already in the room, the better!
Ah, beautiful photo! :-D

I think it is a function to be exploited in the absence of ND filters. But in the end you can not recover it.
Cobarcore thanks for the ride!

Bella! One of those that prefer the series, what is meant by multiple exposure supplied with the D800?! Can decide an exposure for the sky and one for the foreground?

Thanks Stephen.
You can add more shots directly into the car, so making it more homogenous illumination between the sky and landscape .. ;-)
