Non avevo mai visto una genetta, piccolo carnivoro attivo prevalentemente la notte. Non l'avrei visto nemmeno questo volta se Samwel, la nostra guida, non avesse notato, ad occhio nudo e da molto lontano, qualcosa di insolito che pendeva da un ramo. “I think it's a genet”, ha detto. Ha afferrato il binocolo e, tutto soddisfatto, ha confermato. “ It IS a genet!”. Ci siamo avvicinati per quanto e più silenziosamente possibile. Dormiva tranquilla su un ramo, al riparo da eventuali predatori.
