Uganda 2019 - E' mattina presto quando ci alziamo dalle nostre brande ed è ancora buio. La tenda che ci ha ospitato per la notte gronda di umidità, ma le aspettative sono tante e nulla ci può fermare. Le jeep ci portano alla partenza del tour che prevede l'avvistamento dei gorilla di montagna. Ognuno di noi viene aiutato dai portatori. Oltre a macchine fotografiche e abbigliamento vario siamo dotati di due litri di acqua a testa e cibo. Non sappiamo quanto lungo sarà il percorso e che difficoltà dovremo superare. Procediamo lentamente nella giungla. Le guardie che ci precedono ci aprono la strada con il macete. Si scende sempre di più e il percorso diventa sempre più scivoloso, nel frattempo il sole dell'equatore penetra tra gli alberi creando contrasti sulle foglie davvero forti. La luce per fotografare mi accorgo subito che non sarà il massimo. Finalmente i portatori ci fanno segno che i gorilla stanno venendo verso di noi e di tenerci pronti. Dal momento dell'avvistamento avremo non più di ora per stare assieme a questi incredibili animali. All'improvviso una mano emerge dal fogliame della giungla. Sono loro, ci siamo eccoli!!
