La cometa 46P/Wirtanen, ribattezzata cometa di Natale (2018) dai giornalisti, in quanto il periodo di massima visibilità cade nel mese di Dicembre quest'anno Molto grande, (ben più della luna piena), vista la grande vicinanza alla terra nel momento del perielio la cometa occupa una fetta significativa del cielo. Purtroppo la prospettiva sotto la quale la vediamo non permette di vedere bene la (debole) coda che potrebbe avere. Nella foto si nota un leggero accenno di anticoda. Purtroppo nonostante la grande dimensione la cometa è rimasta molto debole come luminosità, quindi è si e no visibile in questi giorni ad occhio nudo, solo da cieli bui, in distolta preferibilmente. Le previsioni la davano un po' più brillante, ma così non è stato. Solo con foto a lunga posa è possibile notare la vera grande dimensione della chioma, verde a causa della ionizzazione del C2 presente sulla superficie ghiacciata, e rilasciato a causa del calore che la cometa riceve dal sole vicino al perielio La foto è presa con un tempo di scatto di circa 1 ora, con due elaborazioni distinte, una centrata su cometa e una su stelle, in modo da vedere tutto fermo e poter apprezzare anche le belle pleiadi nel campo #stars #lungheesposizioni #nightphoto #Cometa
